Moringa – Introduction

For hundreds of years, cultures have known about and used the leaves from the incredible Moringa tree.

Yet, in the “civilised” West, it is barely even heard of!

Here are a couple of key facts:

Moringa originates in India, where it has been prized for thousands of years.

It is often referred to more commonly as “The Miracle Tree”, “Drumstick Tree”, or “The Never Die Tree” because of its hardy nature and medicinal properties.

In ancient India, warriors were fed Moringa leaf extract to give them extra strength and stamina before a battle.

Few plants around the globe offer as many nutrients or medicinal properties.

It can be used to treat high blood pressure, bring down cholesterol levels successfully, and help with Diabetes.

The leaves are so nutritious they are used by aid agencies in famine-hit areas (nowadays, it is also used in porridge, pasta and bread to increase the nutrient content of meals)

There are upwards of 300 conditions that the Moringa plant has been used to alleviate successfully.

Moringa also provides:

Three times more iron than spinach.

Your body needs to absorb all the essential amino acids that it can get. They are the building blocks of proteins that are required to grow, repair and maintain cells. They are also responsible for energy, alertness, memory, reducing liver fat and bladder irritation, and regulating mood and cholesterol.

As it balances sugar levels, it can be highly effective for people with Diabetes.

The extract gives a natural, long-lasting energy boost due to stimulation of the metabolism and cell structure of the body – this also helps in the removal and excretion of toxins built up in the body.

It is also wonderfully beneficial for the skin and hair due to its high levels of Vitamin A, which is essential in the production of healthy cells and Zinc and Silica.

Lastly, Moringa has also been found to possess distinct  anti-ageing properties. It is well known that the effect of free radicals on human skin causes wrinkles and makes the skin appear aged and less resistant to lines. Moringa has an incredible cleansing ability that helps remove free radicals and restore the vitality and youthful complexion of the skin.

It also contains a vast range of phytonutrients, eight essential amino acids and other powerful disease-fighting antioxidants.
